    Kilsyth is a town and civil parish in North Lanarkshire in Scotland. The Romans recognized the strategic significance of Kilsyth with forts at Colziumbea and Castle Hill. In the middle ages, Kilsyth held a key strategic position on one of the main routes across the narrowest part of Scotland and was the site of two castles.  The Civil War Battle of Kilsyth took place between Kilsyth and Banton, North Lanarkshire in 1645.

    Fourteen Handwritten receipts, dating from 1696 to 1708 pertaining, in part, to the Cornwall family of Kilsyth in Scotland. Interesting group, including receipts and accountings for goods, such as supplies for making clothes. Also some services.

    Generally, in very good condition with expected toning, light soiling, folds. Some mounted.Most of the writing is dark.
