    AMBROSE SWASEY (1846-1937) was an American mechanical engineer and inventor.  He and his partner, Wooster R. Warner, formed the company Warner & Swasey in Ohio.  They are best known for their construction and installation of major telescopes and their mountings.  They built the Lick Observatory telescope mounting apparatus. The company was acquired in 1980 by Bendix Corporation.

    Offering a 4” x 4 ½” signed photograph. Lower left in print states “December 19, 1932 At eighty-six.  Verso contains an ANS: My dear Robert. I thank you most sincerely for your kind birthday message and that of your father and mother. Uncle Ambrose”
