JOHN ANDERSON was the master of the Brig Matilda on October 20th, 1864, when he carried a shipment of imported gold – “One Bag Specie 800 Gold” – from St. Barts, approximately 11 x 17. Imported by F. Lavergne as indicated on this ship manifest.
