Early American Commerce -- Hankerchiefs -- Flax Seed and Linen Merchant

There is only 1 item left in stock.

9 ¾" x 8" autograph letter signed by Joseph Jeffery, Bethlehem, to Thomas Green, of Hartford, a flax seed and linen merchant in Hartford, CT, dated April 17, 1810: "Doubtless you remember the plaid hkdf (handkerchiefs)I bought from you for 12 1/2 cents. The people here are very much pleased with it and if you can procure a dozen and send by the post it will much oblige me. I will sent the money for them by the return of the post. Likewise wish you to send me a couple of white hkdfs (handkerchiefs?) prefer dark borders but it will not make much difference.

"Joseph Jeffery"

Nice example of early American commerce.
