Bordered in black and superbly embossed, this mourning card, 3 ¾ x 4, commemorates the life and memory of Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) with the design of a coffin and the words, “IN MEMORY OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATS OF AMERICA, Born February 12th, 1809, Died April 15th, 1865.”
Celebrating a famous line from his second inaugural address at the bottom, “With malice toward none, with charity toward all.”
Lincoln served as the nation’s 16th president from 1861 until his assassination on April 15th, 1865.
This mourning card has light soiling, but overall in very good condition and a great item for the Lincoln collector.
