Fabulous Extra-Large Sultana Coffee A&P Trade Card With African Americans

Superb 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 trade card, with beautiful colors, featuring African Americans and entitled, “The Donation Visit.”  Highly unusual. Text reads, “Feeling that you have labored long and powerfully in the good cause, we beg leave to present you with some of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.’s celebrated teas and coffees which will strengthen you in your labors.”  The responding recipient offers, “You have touched the right spot this time Suah and to show my gratitude I shall keep right on living and recommend these teas and coffees to every one...” Copyright 1884. The card lists branch houses in the United States.
