    THOMAS WENTWORTH HIGGINSON (December 22, 1823-May 9, 1911) was an American Unitarian minister, author, abolitionist, soldier and a member of the notable Secret Six group of men who helped to secretly fund radical abolitionist John Brown’s raid on the U.S. arsenal at Harpers Ferry.
