Superb silver
print photo of the horse, car and driver of the Gloucester [Massachusetts] Street
Railway in front of clapboard dwellings.
Likely dates from the 1880s. Unusually large size – 15 ¼ x 23 ½ inches.
Light toning and oxidation. One small tear in the upper right border and a small bend in the lower left corner. Neither affects the actual image. Comes with the original description, “One Of The First Horse Cars.” Likely used at one time for framing. The photograph is currently unframed. A wonderful piece of late 19th century Americana involving horse cars.
