It is stated that in 1775 he served 8 months as a Corporal, 2 months as a sergeant & six months as a Lieutenant in the state troops raised by the state of Connecticut. In 1777, he received a Lieutenant Commission in the Army & served 18 months in Capt. Walbridge’s Campaign, Col. Sherman’s Regt. & Genl Huntington’s Brigade. I send you enclosed $2.
