    JEREMIAH WADSWORTH (1743-1804) was an American sea captain, merchant and statesman from Hartford, CT, who profited from his position as a government official charged with supplying the Continental Army.  He represented Connecticut in both the Continental Congress and the United States House of Representatives.

     

    One-page, 7 ¾ x 8 ¾, n.d., n.p., listing of items Nicolas Burr requested of Wadsworth. The document also includes an ALS by Burr.  The listing of items includes cloth, buttons, linen, ribbons, stockings and handkerchiefs.

     

    Burr writes, “The above articles will be rather convenient than absolutely necessary.  If they can be readily procured, it will [?]. If not, I can weather it without. With best wishes for your safe retreat...N Burr”
